One Breath At A Time

When it’s time for a fresh start, take a fresh breath of air. Every breath we take is a new beginning. Breathe in clean air and release what you don’t need. And begin again. Breathing in, breathing out. This is the process of taking it one step at a time. 

Whenever you need to just let something go, breathe it out. Notice the sensation of the air as it enters your lungs and feel your body relax as you let it go. This is all it takes. This is how we release rather than hold on. And it takes practice. Lots and lots of practice. Luckily, we breathe all day long, so there are many opportunities to let it go.

When life gets overwhelming, take a break and breathe.

When you’re coming apart at the seams with pain, anxiety or depression, take a break and breathe.

You will feel as if you are drowning when you begin to wade the uncomfortable waters for the first time without the crutches you’ve used in the past to hold you up. 


You will be tempted to believe change is not possible. 


You will fall more times than you can count, and while you’re lying on the ground thinking what’s the point

Breathe. And focus on it. Let it be your anchor. Let it become your home.

You will need to do this a million times a day at first. There will be days as you begin your journey to fill the hole you feel inside with love and self care and all the things to finally make you feel whole, when all you can do is just breathe. 

Today is your day to begin anew, and it’s as easy as breathing in, breathing out.
